At MKL Tech, we intentionally avoid pressure-based sales. Alongside running the business, we conduct research on how people make financial decisions, including how uncertainty and limited budgets affect choices. We see that when customers aren’t sure what the parts mean, they often choose more expensive upgrades to try to avoid making the wrong choice.
Many parts sound important, and marketing often implies that more expensive automatically means better. In reality, a lot of upgrades don’t meaningfully improve everyday tasks like schoolwork, normal use, or even most gaming.
As a result, our process is different. We start by understanding how the system will actually be used and what matters to the customer. Then we explain what each component really does, what is worth paying for, and what isn’t.
